Twitch is a popular live streaming platform. Users can broadcast themselves playing video games, making art, or just chatting. Viewers can watch the streams and interact with the streamers via chat. It’s very funny to use this interactive gaming platform on our smart TVs.
But, It was heartbreaking news when I heard the official Twitch app retired from Samsung TV. I know, like me, there are a lot of users worldwide who really want to enjoy the interactive gaming experience on a smart TV. Unfortunately, in 2019, the official Twitch app has been removed from Samsung smart TV.

But, by using some tips and tricks we can simply get our favorite interactive streaming platform back in our smart TV. But how?
In this post, I’ll show you how to get Twitch on Samsung TV in 3 different methods.
How to watch Twitch on Samsung TV?
There is no official Twitch app installed on your Samsung TV, but we’ll cast the Twitch app installed on our smartphone to the TV and get the content on the TV screen.
Cast the Twitch app to Samsung TV
If you are an iPhone user, we’ll use the Airbeam app to screen mirror the application and enjoy the content on TV. Basically, we’ll run the official Twitch iOS app on our mobile smartphone, and then using the mirroring app, we cast the screen.
Follow the instructions
- Go to the iTunes Apple store and download and install the Airbeam app
- Connect both the TV and the iPhone to the same WiFi network
- Once you installed the app, open the application
- It will search for the available devices and list them
- Select your Samsung TV from the list
- Then tap on the start mirroring option to screen mirror your mobile device
- Launch the Twitch app on your phone to view the content on your Samsung TV
Cast and stream Twitch TV from Android/iPhone devices using the Tubio app
If you find any issue mirroring the screen with your TV, you can rely on some third-party screen projection apps like Tubio. The graphical user interface on the Tubio app will simplify connecting your Samsung and other smart TVs with your mobile phone.
Tubio is the best option to discover all the connected TVs and can access the files and content on the TV.
Connect your TV and mobile to the same WiFi.
Download and install the Tubio app from the app store. Then open the app, and tap on the TV icon seen in the bottom right corner.
The app will search for all the TVs and list them. Select your connected Samsung TV from the list.
In the address bar of the Tubio app, type the Twitch official website address twitch.tv, and then go to the website.
Your app will land on the official Twitch website. Then log in with your username and password. Stream the Twitch content on your smartphone, and the same content will be played on your Samsung TV too without losing any picture or audio quality.
Install the Android TV box with your Samsung TV and get the Twitch app
If you are ready to invest a small amount of money in buying an Android TV box, you can simply set up the box with your Samsung TV and play Twitch on it. The cost of the box will be only cost less than $50 and above the price range and is based on the brand.
Suppose, you already have an Android box, you are lucky. Take it and follow my instructions.
Many people doubt that is it possible to install an Android TV box on the Tizen OS Samsung TV. But the answer is YES!
Connect your Android box to your Samsung smart TV with an HDMI cable and select HDMI as the source input on the TV. Your smart TV will load your connected Android box interface.
The next step is to connect the box to the WiFi network. For this, go to the settings tab using the remote control and select the network option. The system will identify the available WiFi network and will be listed.
Select your network and then enter the SSID (Username) and password. Connect to the WiFi. A pop-up message will come when your Android box is connected.
Then search for the Google Play Store tile from the interface. Then search for the Twitch app. Click or select the install button to download and install the Twitch app on an Android box that is connected to your Samsung TV.
Now you can use the app on your smartphone. Launch the app on the box. Log in with your username and password. Enjoy the Twitch app on your Samsung TV screen.
Use the built-in screen mirroring feature on your smartphone
Now all smartphones come with a built-in screen mirroring feature you can cast the screen on any smart TV. The feature name may be different in different model phones such as Screencast, screen mirror, screen share, multicast, etc.
In my Android smartphone, it’s the screencast.
To make use of this feature, download and install the Twitch app on your smartphone. Sign in with your Twitch login credentials.
Then connect the TV and the mobile device to the WiFi network.
swipe from up to down on your Android device and find the screencast feature. Tap on the icon. Now your device is ready to cast the screen to the TV.
Select the connected Samsung TV from the list. Then wait till the TV is connected to your device. After that, launch the Twitch app on your device, which will play the video on your TV too.
Can I stream Twitch through Roku smart TVs
Samsung doesn’t offer Roku smart TVs, but if you have connected Roku streaming box/stick with your Samsung TV, make use of TWOKU third-party app on the system to get Twitch on Roku streaming player. There’s no dedicated channel app available in their channel store.
Conclusion
With the removal of the Twitch app from Samsung TVs, users still have straightforward options to stream Twitch. By screen mirroring your smartphone’s Twitch app through apps like Airbeam and Tubio or built-in casting features, or by connecting an Android TV box, Samsung owners can still conveniently access desired Twitch content. A bit of effort delivers the interactive Twitch experience to your big screen.
